Gianluca Busuttil has been appointed partner within Deloitte Legal.
Busuttil joined Deloitte Malta in 2019 as a member of the firm’s in-house legal team, before gradually transitioning into a client-facing role. In doing so, he successfully leveraged his understanding of legal operating models within large organisations to support a wide spectrum of clients across different industries.
In 2022, Busuttil received the prestigious Mark de Giorgio Award in recognition of his professional excellence and contribution to the firm. He was subsequently instrumental in the set-up of Deloitte Legal in Malta – a law firm comprised of warranted legal advocates and operating under the Deloitte Legal brand since 2025. Deloitte Legal in Malta forms part of the wider Deloitte Legal network, providing clients with access to integrated legal and multidisciplinary services.
Busuttil is an expert in legal and contractual interpretation, an advocate for purposeful legal AI integration, and has developed a broad range of specialisations that enable him to provide practical, business-focused legal solutions. As partner, he will lead a core team of subject-matter experts within Deloitte Legal, collectively building a culture grounded in a solution-driven perspective of the law.
“I am delighted to announce Gianluca as a partner. Beyond his strong technical credentials, Gianluca has been a key driver of the solution-driven culture we are building within Deloitte Legal. His commitment to our people and our clients, together with his role in establishing the practice locally since the launch of Deloitte Legal, make him a natural addition to our leadership team,” Conrad Cassar Torregiani, managing partner, Deloitte Legal, said.
