The Malta Chamber will run a series of workshops over the coming months aimed at helping local businesses adopt new technologies.

In a statement, the chamber said the workshops will provide business owners, directors and decision-makers with “practical knowledge and real-world strategies to embrace digital transformation with confidence”.

The series, which is open to businesses from all sectors, will start on September 10, with the final workshop taking place on October 29.

With businesses facing increasing pressure to innovate and remain competitive, the workshops “will cut through the hype surrounding digital technologies and focus on what really matters”, the chamber said.

The series will explore how automation, data, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital transformation can deliver “measurable business value”.

Chamber president William Spiteri Bailey emphasised that digitalisation was “no longer optional. It drives competitiveness, strengthens business adaptability and supports sustainable growth”.

He said the chamber wanted to equip businesses with the knowledge and confidence to embrace new technologies, make informed investment decisions and unlock new opportunities for innovation and growth.

The first workshop will lay out the differences between automation, the Internet of Things (IoT), intelligent operations and artificial intelligence, while exploring how such technologies can aid businesses.

The following workshop will focus on how data can benefit manufacturers, while the third will explain how data used to predict future trends (‘predictive analytics’) can help retailers better manage stock, improve customer retention, improve performance and identify new opportunities.

The fourth workshop will explore how generative AI – such as ChatGPT or Google’s Gemini – can drive business growth, improve customer engagement and increase efficiency, while the fifth will focus on building digital transformation strategies, software solutions, branding, web and mobile technologies and user experience.

The final session will concentrate on cybersecurity, cloud technologies, responsible use of AI and effective governance.

Further information, including registration details, will be announced on the chamber’s website and its social media platforms. Workshops will take place on September 10, 16 and 22, and on October 6, 19 and 29.
