Exclusive new reward scheme on LIDL Plus

Lidl Plus enhances its digital experience with the launch of a simplified rewards programme. Distinguishing itself from conventional schemes, the initiative offers a vast digital catalogue of over 250 food products that customers can claim entirely for free.

Lidl Malta is redefining the shopping trip by making it more rewarding and personalised than ever before.

On April 30, 2026, the Lidl Plus app – a staple for local shoppers since 2021 – will undergo its most significant evolution yet with the launch of Lidl Points.

This points-based initiative represents a landmark milestone in the retailer’s digital strategy.

Following the successful integration of Lidl Pay, which enables customers to pay at the till with a single rapid scan of a QR code,

Lidl is taking a further step forward to ensure the shopping journey is increasingly integrated, seamless, and rewarding.

“Introducing Lidl Points allows us to bring even more value to the thousands of shoppers who visit us every day,” says Owen Micallef, Lidl Malta Director. “We recognise that shopping habits are changing, and we want to provide a tangible benefit that gives our customers even more access to the products they love. We are immensely proud of this initiative; by introducing a specialised reward-based catalogue, we are giving our shoppers the freedom to choose exactly how they are rewarded, ensuring a truly personalised experience.”

How the Rewards Scheme Works

The mechanics of Lidl Points have been designed with total simplicity in mind:

  • €1 = 1 Point: For every euro spent, customers automatically earn *one point on their Lidl Plus profile.
  • Extended Validity: Points remain valid for 24 months from the date they are awarded, giving you plenty of time to choose your favourite rewards.
  • Daily Flexibility: Points can be earned on up to five separate transactions per day, offering shoppers maximum flexibility.

At the heart of the programme is the brand-new ‘Rewards Gallery’ integrated into the app: a comprehensive virtual catalogue featuring over 250 coupons for Lidl food products and discount vouchers**.

Customers have total freedom of choice; product coupons can be redeemed multiple times, provided the points balance is sufficient.

To kick-start the experience, customers can claim 50 bonus Lidl Points immediately by visiting the “How it Works” section within the app. These welcome points are available to use alongside those earned during the daily shop right away.

With the launch of Lidl Points, the retailer reaffirms its commitment to innovation, demonstrating that true value is built upon a modern, customer-centric digital ecosystem.

*Points earned will be available in your balance immediately after your shopping trip, whilst the ability to redeem them will begin from the following day.

** At present, the following product is excluded from the scheme: infant formula.
