Founder of The Garage.

Rozina Sidhu Koskela founded The Garage with a clear vision to help businesses validate ideas before investing heavily in execution, working hands-on with businesses to develop new products.

During her career she has also designed and delivered innovation workshops and bootcamps across startups and corporates, as while supporting organisations in building structured frameworks for idea validation, KPIs, and venture creation.

Furthermore, Sidhu Koskela creates collaborative environments and focusing on bridging the innovation gap between Malta and Spain, through the launch of the Innovation Exchange Programme with MyTechPlan, as well as launching initiatives focused on leadership development and empowering underrepresented groups, particularly women in business.

“It’s about helping businesses make smarter decisions, reduce risk and focus on building what actually matters.”

Sidhu Koskela has worked across product, research, and growth, and one pattern kept repeating: companies were investing significant time and money into building solutions without truly validating the problem first.

She started The Garage to bridge that gap to create a structured yet creative space where ideas could be challenged, tested and shaped before execution.

Additionally she also wanted to help with starting an environment for women, to confidently build in a safe space and learn to ‘fail’, without the need to be perfect, before launching a product into the market.

The guiding principles that have shaped her business decisions and company culture are:

Curiosity over assumptions – Always start with questions, not answers.

Validation before execution – Test ideas early to avoid costly mistakes.

Collaboration over hierarchy – The best ideas come from diverse perspectives.

Human-centric thinking – Understanding real user needs is non-negotiable.

Sustainable growth – Building businesses that last, not just scale fast.

At the beginning, success was about launching and getting ideas off the ground and seeing them come to life.

Now, she says, success is much more aboutimpact and longevity; about whether the ideas they help shape actually solve meaningful problems, create value and can sustain themselves over time

It is also about the people – seeing individuals grow into confident leaders and decision-makers.

One initiative she is particularly proud of is evolving The Garage into a venture-building partner, rather than a consultancy.

“We are working alongside businesses to shape, validate and develop them into tangible opportunities, often embedding ourselves in the process.”

As time goes by, Sidhu Koskela says that she has become intentional about creating space to reset and becoming conscious and present for her husband and children.

She disconnects through walks in nature, SUP, meditation and journaling.

For her, time for reflection is a great way to recharge.

What advice would you give to someone looking to start or scale a business in your industry today?

Don’t fall in love with your solution, fall in love with the problem.

Spend more time understanding your customer than building your product. Test early, iterate quickly and don’t be afraid to discard ideas that don’t work.

Also, surround yourself with people who challenge your thinking as that’s where real growth happens.
