European Commissioner for Financial Stability, Financial Services and the Capital Markets Union, Maria Luís Albuquerque, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Central Bank of Malta.
Albuquerque was welcomed by Deputy Governor Oliver Bonello. She was accompanied by Claudine Camilleri, Deputy Head and Head of Political Reporting at the European Commission Representation in Malta and Nuno Vaz, Communications Adviser.
Also present were Benoit Waelkens, Chief Officer Banking Operations; Alan Cassar, Chief Officer Financial Stability; and Kirsten Ellul, Manager of the Payments Policy and Compliance Office.
The meeting formed part of the Commissioner’s wider engagement with key national stakeholders during her visit to Malta. Discussions focused on matters of mutual interest within the respective areas of responsibility of the Commission and the Central Bank.
