Concept Stadium has been appointed to develop the official brand identity of the next edition of the Commonwealth Youth Games. The international multi-sport event will welcome young athletes from across the Commonwealth to Malta in October 2027.
Organised by Commonwealth Sport Malta, the games aim to celebrate not only sporting excellence but also Malta’s heritage, diversity and commitment to inspiring future generations through sport.
Concept Stadium will be responsible for the logo, visual identity and overall branding system.
Julian Pace Bonello, president, Commonwealth Sport Malta, said: “The 2027 Commonwealth Youth Games represent a unique opportunity for Malta to showcase not only its ability to host an event of this scale, but also its identity as a nation. The brand will play a key role in bringing this vision to life, connecting culture, sport and youth in a way that resonates both locally and internationally.”
As part of its remit, Concept Stadium is also leading the development of the official launch campaign, including a flagship launch video that will bring together the key elements of the games: the energy of youth sport, the richness of Maltese culture, and the sense of unity that defines the Commonwealth.
Jonathan Dalli, founder and CEO of Concept Stadium, said: “This project is about more than creating a logo. It is about shaping a narrative that represents Malta on an international stage. Sport has always been close to our heart as an agency, not just as a discipline, but as a platform for connection, growth and shared experience. We are approaching the brand as a platform that brings together culture, sport and people in a way that feels authentic, engaging and future-focused.”
Alessandro Caselli, brand director at Concept Stadium, added: “We are approaching the identity with a strong sense of responsibility towards both the Maltese narrative and the wider Commonwealth framework. Our team is working closely with the Commonwealth Sport marketing team to ensure the brand is developed in line with the established brand guidelines, while still creating a distinct identity that reflects Malta’s culture, energy and youth spirit. The aim is to create a visual system that feels internationally coherent, yet authentically rooted in the host nation.”
The wider campaign will focus on engaging key audiences, including schoolchildren, young athletes, educators, media and the general public. Through a mix of digital content, on-ground activations and community-driven initiatives, the games aim to inspire participation, encourage youth engagement in sport and create a lasting connection with the Maltese public.
