Kurt Micallef joins The Phoenicia Malta as senior sous chef

Kurt Micallef has joined the kitchen team at The Phoenicia Malta as senior sous chef.

Micallef trained at Le Cordon Bleu in London and across Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe, including Belgium’s In De Wulf, where he built a classically French repertoire and developed a passion for locally sourced, exceptional food.

Years of hands-on experience followed, with senior posts in some of Malta’s most respected kitchens – Noni, Risette, Ion the Harbour and, most recently, Fernando’s.

“We are delighted to welcome Kurt as senior sous chef,” the hotel’s general manager, Robyn Pratt, said.

“For Kurt, food is more than a profession – it’s a way of life. With his extensive knowledge, creativity and expertise, we look forward to the exciting experiences he will bring to our guests.”
