New York-based Apollo to headline PEVCA Malta Event on Private Wealth

The global wealth management company has US$1 trillion in assets under management and recently joined as a PEVCA member

The Malta Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (PEVCA Malta) has announced its next members’ event, to be held in collaboration with Apollo Global Management, Inc., following Apollo’s recent membership in the association.

Apollo is one of the world’s leading alternative asset managers, with over US$1 trillion in assets under management and a long-established track record across private equity, private credit, and real assets.

Headquartered in New York City, Apollo operates with a strong global footprint, with offices across North America, Europe, and Asia. Its scale and breadth provide it with a front-row view of how private markets are evolving, from capital raising trends to shifts in investor demand and the growing influence of private wealth.

The upcoming event will feature Jonathon Orr, CFA, Managing Director and Client Portfolio Manager at Apollo Global Management, in a fireside discussion focused on how private wealth is influencing the development of European private markets.

The conversation will explore themes including capital formation, evolving fund structures, investment implications, platform dynamics, and the increasing significance of Europe and Southern Europe within global private capital strategies.

The fireside chat will be moderated by Herald Bonnici, Secretary General of PEVCA Malta, and will be followed by networking.

Founded in 2024, PEVCA Malta was established to help raise Malta’s profile in private markets and to strengthen engagement between international investment managers and the country’s expanding community of private capital stakeholders.

Commenting on the firm’s decision to join the association, Stefano Gulotta, Associate, said: “Apollo’s decision to join PEVCA Malta reflects our commitment to expanding our coverage, supporting the development of private markets, and strengthening strategic access to the growing Maltese wealth and institutional investor base.”

PEVCA Malta said Apollo’s membership further reinforces the association’s role as a platform connecting global investment managers with Malta’s evolving financial ecosystem, including a growing base of family offices, wealth managers, and institutional investors.

As private wealth becomes a larger driver of European private market fundraising and product innovation, managers of Apollo’s calibre are helping shape the next generation of fund structures, distribution models, and portfolio construction approaches. Hearing directly from Apollo therefore offers attendees a practical perspective on where opportunities are emerging and how platforms are adapting in response.

For Malta’s financial ecosystem, Apollo’s engagement as a PEVCA Malta member signals increased international attention on the island’s growing base of family offices, wealth managers, and institutional investors. Their participation strengthens PEVCA Malta’s role as a bridge between global investment expertise and local market development—creating a valuable opportunity for members and guests to connect with senior practitioners operating at the highest levels of private capital.
