Ookla® confirms Epic tops Malta’s mobile networks for third year running

Epic named Malta’s Fastest Mobile Network, Best Mobile Network and Fastest Mobile Network on Apple devices for Q3-Q4 2025.

Epic has once again been recognised by Ookla®, a global leader in connectivity intelligence, securing two major Speedtest Awards® for Q3-Q4 2025.

For the third year in a row, Epic has been awarded Malta’s Fastest Mobile Network as well as Best Mobile Network for two years in a row, while also being Speedtest Verified as the Best Mobile Network on Apple Devices in Malta.

These latest achievements further reinforce Epic’s position at the forefront of Malta’s telecommunications landscape – not just for speed, but for consistent, high-quality performance across devices and real-world usage.

To determine the Fastest Mobile Network award, Ookla analysed consumer-initiated tests taken on Speedtest® using modern devices across all major mobile operators in Malta.

The results that are based on download and upload speeds with latency metrics give an overall view of speed performance.

To determine the Best Mobile Network award, Ookla analysed 907,300 tests that measure real-world performance metrics, such as speed, latency, web browsing and video streaming.

The statistical evaluation confirmed that Epic delivered the fastest mobile speeds and the best mobile user experience during the Q3–Q4 2025 award period, reflecting the company’s continued focus on network excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

Epic also delivered the fastest overall mobile experience for iPhone and iPad users. The award reflects a combination of faster speeds, lower latency and more reliable connections when using Apple devices.

This confirms that customers using iPhones and iPads experience faster downloads on Epic’s network than on any other in Malta.

Epic CEO Pierre-Etienne Cizeron said: “Being recognised by Ookla for the third consecutive year, now across three distinct performance categories, is a powerful validation of the work our teams continue to deliver. These results confirm that Epic’s mobile network is not only the fastest in Malta, but also the most consistently high performing across all mobile devices, especially Apple devices.”

Epic’s continued investment in Malta’s telecommunications infrastructure is driven by a long-term vision to provide customers with a mobile network they can rely on every day.

The awards reflect the trust customers place in Epic, as well as the dedication of its people, whose ongoing commitment continues to push the boundaries of network performance and innovation.

“Earning the Speedtest Awards for Fastest Mobile Network and Best Mobile Network for the past three years is a remarkable feat that speaks volumes about Epic’s dedication to excellence when it comes to connectivity in Malta” said Stephen Bye, President and CEO of Ookla, a division of Ziff Davis.

“For the past three years, Epic Malta’s consistent victories highlight their role as industry leaders, setting new benchmarks for speed and exceptional consumer experience. We are proud to validate that they have also won the Fastest Mobile Network for Apple devices in Malta backed by Speedtest Verified. Their dedication to improving connectivity is truly commendable, and we are delighted to honor their remarkable achievement.”

The Speedtest Awards® for mobile speeds are determined using Ookla’s Speed Score™, which incorporates download and upload performance from tests conducted exclusively on modern devices capable of connecting to the fastest generally available technologies.

The Ookla Speedtest Award for Best Mobile Network is based on the Speedtest Connectivity Score™, providing a reliable measure of the overall mobile network connected experience.

Speedtest Connectivity Score combines various real-world network performance metrics, such as speed, latency, and quality of experience for everyday activities like web browsing and video streaming.

This methodology ensures that the results reflect a user’s experience across multiple activities.

With these latest recognitions, Epic further strengthens its leadership position in Malta’s telecommunications sector, continuing to set benchmarks for mobile network performance, reliability, and customer experience.

This marks Epic’s third consecutive year of recognition by Ookla, following its previous awards for Q3–Q4 2023 and Q3–Q4 2024, further underlining the company’s sustained excellence in mobile network performance.
