According to the National Statistics Office (NSO), n October 2025, the index of industrial production decreased by 1.0 per cent when compared to October 2024. When excluding energy, the index went down by 1.2 per cent.
Manufacturing output declined by 1.4 per cent. The largest downward change was registered in the production of other manufacturing (11.7 per cent), followed by rubber and other non-metallic mineral products (3.6 per cent) and food products and beverages (2.9 per cent).
On the other hand, increases were recorded in the production of chemical and pharmaceutical products (14.8 per cent), computer, electronic and optical products, and motor vehicles (3.7 per cent) and wood, paper products and printing (3.6 per cent).
Industrial output
The Main Industrial Groupings (MIGs) provide an alternative statistical breakdown of economic activities classified according to end-use categories. They combine several NACE divisions, groups and classes together.
In October 2025, the highest decrease in production was registered in capital goods (8.0 per cent), followed by consumer goods (0.1 per cent).
On the contrary, the production of intermediate goods and energy increased by 10.2 per cent and 3.2 per cent, respectively.
A clearer picture of the economic developments can be obtained when indices are adjusted for seasonal effects. These recurring effects are removed from the index series to enable month-to-month comparisons.
The seasonally adjusted index of industrial production for October 2025 went up by 0.5 per cent when compared to September 2025 and stood at 113.2 index points (2021=100).
