CrediaBank confirms agreement to acquire majority stake in Pantelakis Securities S.A.

CrediaBank, the fifth largest bank in Greece, that will, subject to regulatory approval acquire 70.03% of HSBC Bank Malta plc, continues to grow its position in the financial services sector through the acquisition of a 70% shareholding in Pantelakis Securities S.A., a leading Greek brokerage industry firm.

CrediaBank has signed a definitive agreement to acquire a 70% stake in Pantelakis for a cash consideration of € 8.75 million.

The transaction also includes a Call and Put Option relating to the remaining 30% shareholding, effective three years following completion of the initial acquisition and does not include the participation of Pantelakis (50%) in AssetWise SA.

Pantelakis is expected to continue operating under its current management structure in order to ensure continuity, stability, and seamless service delivery to clients and counterparties.

The transaction reflects CrediaBank’s long-term growth strategy and is expected to broaden its range of investment and brokerage services, upgrade its product and service offering and further strengthen its position in the capital markets.

Moreover, this acquisition is expected to strengthen fee income generation, diversify fee revenue pools and create long-term growth opportunities through cross-selling and client network expansion, whilst delivering additional cost synergies.

Completion of the transaction is targeted within the third quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, including all necessary regulatory approvals.

Founded in 1920, Pantelakis Securities S.A. is a long-standing member of the Athens Stock Exchange, offering brokerage and Equity Capital Markets (ECM) services to both retail and institutional investors across Greek and international equities, bonds, and derivatives markets.

The firm, which has been well established as one of the most reputable and leading brokerage firms in the Greek market, has a strong and enduring relationship with HSBC London and was previously part of the HSBC Group, operating as HSBC Securities until 2012.
