Wolt Storefront: Empowering local businesses to grow beyond the marketplace

Wolt, the technology platform for local commerce, is strengthening its role as a strategic partner for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Malta, expanding beyond delivery to build a comprehensive ecosystem that supports business growth, digital transformation, and long-term success.

As part of this broader vision, Wolt has recently introduced Wolt Storefront in Malta — a solution designed to help merchants build their own direct digital presence while leveraging Wolt’s infrastructure.

Wolt Storefront enables merchants in Malta to build and develop direct ordering channels with their own individual branding, via their website or link-in-bio.

This white-label solution has been specifically designed to help merchants grow their online presence and retain control over their customer relationships, whilst relying on Wolt’s powerful ordering, payments, and logistics behind the scenes.

Storefront’s lower commission model compared to traditional marketplace listings makes it an attractive proposition, particularly for businesses looking to maximize margins while maintaining high-quality service.Designed to suit businesses of all sizes, Wolt Storefront offers flexibility and scalability without requiring any complex technical investment.

Commenting on the successful initial results of Storefront, Wolt Malta General Manager, Chris Tanti said that “Wolt Storefront empowers merchants with a simple way to build their own direct channels, connect with customers, and grow their business with fully branded online digital storefronts, accessible via their own websites or simple link-in-bio integrations, while Wolt seamlessly manages the backend.

At the same time, it reflects our broader vision: to be a true partner for small and medium-sized businesses, not only by driving demand, but by equipping them with the tools, technology, and support they need to grow sustainably and succeed in an increasingly digital world”

Storefront is already gaining traction in Malta, with some 40 venues currently live and further takeup in the pipeline.

The solution is applicable for merchants across various categories, with adoption being particularly strong among restaurants, including several top-performing partners who are leveraging the solution to enhance their own digital reach.

A key driver of success has been the integration of Storefront links across merchants’ existing digital touchpoints including social media platforms, Google listings, and websites ensuring customers can easily discover and order directly.

Early performance indicators highlight the platform’s effectiveness, with an average conversion rate of around 20%, showing strong customer engagement.

Around 30% of users return to order again, with this figure steadily growing by 5 to 10% month-on-month.

There is also a clear preference for takeaway, which accounts for 48% of orders, offering merchants an additional advantage through lower operating costs.

A true ally for businesses: Supporting growth at every stage

The launch of Storefront reflects Wolt’s broader ambition to be a true partner for local businesses — not only by driving demand, but by enabling merchants to build and grow their own direct digital presence.

Beyond Storefront, Wolt continues to invest in solutions that support merchants across their growth journey, helping them reach new customers, generate additional revenue, and adapt to evolving consumer habits.

Through Wolt Capital, businesses can access fast, flexible financing directly within the platform, helping them overcome traditional funding barriers and invest in expansion, operations, or marketing with ease.

At the same time, Wolt Drive extends Wolt’s logistics capabilities beyond the marketplace, enabling merchants to power deliveries for their own channels with the same speed and reliability.

Together, these solutions reflect Wolt’s broader ambition: to go beyond delivery and act as a true growth engine for local commerce — equipping businesses with the tools, technology, and support they need to scale and succeed.

As adoption grows in Malta, Wolt Storefront will play an increasingly important role within this ecosystem, helping merchants strengthen direct customer relationships and unlock new growth opportunities.
