Driving inclusion forward

On March 25, 2026 as part of Anti-Racism & Diversity Week, Grant Thornton Malta joined a network of organisations dedicated to advancing inclusive practices across industries.

During the event, the firm’s partner in capital markets, Oriana Abela, participated in the panel discussion ‘Advancing anti-racism at work: lessons and best practices from industry’.

She was joined by Virain Hariramani, head of the firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) Committee, and Kiara Conings, a committee member. Together, they shared practical insights and experiences, highlighting the firm’s commitment to embedding its CARE values and fostering a culture where individuals feel respected, heard and empowered.

A key highlight of the event was Grant Thornton Malta’s signing of the Malta Diversity & Inclusion Charter by CORE Platform and the Human Rights Directorate, representing a meaningful step forward in strengthening the firm’s DE&I commitment.

This reinforces Grant Thornton Malta’s ongoing efforts to integrate inclusive practices across all aspects of its operations, from internal processes to client engagement and community involvement.

“We are committed to fostering an environment where every individual is valued and supported, and where inclusive practices are embedded across our operations,” George Vella, managing partner, head of advisory, said. “Initiatives such as these are not standalone efforts, but part of a broader, long-term vision to create sustainable and meaningful impact within our firm and the wider community.”

Commenting on the initiative, Abela said: “Participating in this discussion and signing the Malta Diversity & Inclusion Charter reflects our firm’s genuine commitment to driving meaningful change. Diversity, equity and inclusion are integral to how we operate, collaborate and grow. By sharing experiences and learning from others, we continue to strengthen a culture where everyone feels empowered to contribute and succeed.”

These achievements are driven by the continued dedication of the firm’s DE&I Committee, which plays a pivotal role in shaping and advancing impactful initiatives across the organisation. Grant Thornton remains committed to building an inclusive workplace.
