Mapfre employees have once again demonstrated the power of collective action through a meaningful initiative combining environmental stewardship with humanitarian support.
Under the theme “One Team. Two Ways to Make a Difference”, employees came together to help protect one of Malta’s greatest natural asset – its coastline – while also raising funds for communities affected by the recent devastating earthquake in Venezuela.
As part of a large-scale beach clean-up activity, Mapfre employees collected more than 800 kilograms of waste from Malta’s coastline, helping preserve local beaches and marine ecosystems for future generations.
At the same time, employees rallied behind a fundraising campaign in support of those impacted by the earthquake in Venezuela.
The disaster has claimed more than 3,000 lives and left over 17,000 people without homes, disrupting countless families and communities now facing the difficult task of recovery and rebuilding.
Although separated by thousands of kilometres, Mapfre Malta Group maintained close contact with colleagues at Mapfre Venezuela, and was relieved to confirm that all employees and their families are safe.
Motivated by Mapfre’s values of solidarity and mutual support, employees and the company raised more than €3,000 to assist those affected by the tragedy.
“At Mapfre Malta Group, we believe that small actions, when multiplied by many people, can create a meaningful impact,” said Etienne Sciberras Mapfre Malta CEO. “Whether protecting our local environment or supporting communities in need abroad, our employees continue to demonstrate the values of solidarity, responsibility and teamwork that define our organisation.”
“This initiative perfectly reflects the spirit of Mapfre and the values we live by every day. I am immensely proud of our employees, who have shown that caring for our communities extends beyond geographical boundaries. By coming together to protect Malta’s coastline and support those affected by the earthquake in Venezuela, they have demonstrated that compassion, solidarity and collective action can make a real difference. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps build a stronger, more supportive world.” said Elvira Lopes de La Merida, CEO Mapfre Msv Life.
The initiative highlights the commitment of Mapfre Malta Group and its employees to creating a positive impact both locally and internationally.
Through environmental action and charitable giving, colleagues showed that when people unite behind a common purpose, meaningful change is possible.
