The University of Malta and Xjenza Malta are holding a half-day interactive seminar on a novel platform that combines virtual reality and artificial intelligence to help reduce pain and anxiety during hospital procedures and other care settings.
Titled Morpheus, the project is designed to deliver personalised, drug-free support through immersive experiences adapted in real time.
The event will take place at Villa Bighi, Kalkara, on May 8, 2026 from 9am to noon.
During the seminar, participants will gain insight into the project, the underlying approach and the practical potential of this technology in healthcare. The session will also include a live demonstration and an opportunity for discussion.
The event will be of particular interest to healthcare professionals, researchers, innovators and all those interested in the future of digital health and patient-centred care.
