Studjurban scores double at BIG SEE Awards

Studjurban, one of Malta’s leading architecture and urban design firms, has once again garnered international recognition after securing two prestigious BIG SEE Architecture Awards.

The firm’s innovative projects, DAWL and Birgu’s Living Piazza, were celebrated for their distinctive contributions to residential and public space design respectively, placing Studjurban alongside globally renowned architects and design offices.

The DAWL project was honoured in the residential houses category and praised for its thoughtful integration of modern design principles with sustainable living solutions.

Meanwhile, Birgu’s Living Piazza, designed by Antoine Zammit, Dorianne Cachia and Shannon Farrugia, received the award in the ‘Public/Open Space and Landscape’ category. The award recognised the public square for the transformation of communal space into a vibrant hub for cultural and social engagement.

Commenting on the awards, Zammit, founder of Studjurban, said: “Receiving two BIG SEE Awards in a single year is a testament not only to our team’s dedication and vision but also to Malta’s growing presence on the international architecture stage.”

“The two awards reflect Studjurban’s continued commitment to excellence in architecture and urban design through designs that are both contextually rooted and globally relevant, fostering meaningful connections between people, space and community.” Both projects are now featured on the official BIG SEE platform, highlighting their impact and positioning Malta as a hub for innovative, world-class architectural practice.
