HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c. brought together valued customers, partners and stakeholders at the Malta International Contemporary Art Space (MICAS) in Valletta, for a landmark customer event celebrating the bank’s recognition as Bank of the Year 2025 by The Banker, while reaffirming its unwavering commitment to customers as it prepares for its next chapter of growth.
The evening served as both a celebration of achievement and a clear statement of continuity, confidence and investment in Malta’s banking future as HSBC Malta prepares to become part of CrediaBank.
The proposed transaction remains subject to the required corporate and regulatory approvals.
HSBC Malta CEO Geoffrey Fichte expressed the team’s enthusiasm to work with CrediaBank andreiterated that the bank remains fully open for business and firmly focused on supporting customers’ personal and business ambitions.
He welcomed special guest Eleni Vrettou, CEO of CrediaBank to the event.

“HSBC Malta remains fully operational and entirely focused on our customers,” he said. “This next phase, subject to regulatory approvals, is another step in our journey together. We look forward to transforming and upgrading our bank to better support our customers.”
