Neil Agius signs deal with global speaking agency

Ultra-endurance swimmer joins A-Speakers roster

Maltese Olympian and ultra-endurance world record holder Neil Agius has signed a deal with A-Speakers, one of Europe’s leading international speaker bureaus.

A-Speakers represents hundreds of speakers and thought leaders across the globe, from Diary of a CEO host Steven Bartlett to real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran, Fubu CEO Daymond John, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and former footballer Paul Scholes.

The agency will now represent Agius worldwide for keynote speeches, leadership events, corporate workshops, and high-performance sessions that draw on his open water experiences and Ocean Mindset philosophy.

A-Speakers, whose roster includes world-renowned explorers, athletes, entrepreneurs, and leadership experts, described Agius as “a truly rare profile, a speaker who embodies both extreme physical achievement and profound emotional intelligence.”

Agius, 39, represented Malta at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and also set various national swimming records. But it was his push into long-distance open water swimming that catapulted him to national attention.

Over the past years, he has set records for swims around Malta and Gozo as well as swimming from Sicily to Malta. In 2024 he set a world record for the longest continuous open water swim when he swam 140km non-stop around Malta, Gozo and Comino.

And in September, he swam around Gozo seven times in seven days. A dedicated medical and scientific team monitored him throughout to study how breathwork and recovery interact under extreme stress.

Agius has already delivered talks to major global organisations, including a standout session at Netflix’s European Headquarters in London, where he guided teams from the UK, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands through breathwork, endurance training, and behind-the-scenes stories from his record-breaking swims, including hallucinations, jellyfish swarms, and the mental tools required to push beyond human limits.

His collaboration with A-Speakers was announced in a statement released on Thursday. The connection was initiated through Business Leaders Malta.

Agius said: “I’m excited to share the Ocean Mindset with audiences around the world. My swims taught me that our limits are far further than we think and that endurance is something anyone can train. Partnering with A-Speakers allows me to bring that message to more people, teams, and leaders.”

Agius’ keynotes will focus on endurance, mental strength, high-pressure decision-making, wellbeing, and the power of breathwork, all rooted in the techniques that carried him through his world-record ultra-endurance swims.
