The Eden Leisure Foundation has strengthened its environmental commitment through a donation to BirdLife Malta in support of the preservation and long-term protection of the Is-Simar Nature Reserve, one of Malta’s most important wetland habitats.
The contribution will specifically fund BirdLife Malta’s satellite ringing system, an advanced tracking technology used to monitor migratory birds.
This system plays a critical role in understanding flight patterns, behaviours, and environmental pressures, enabling more effective conservation strategies for species travelling across continents.
As part of this initiative, the Foundation’s Chairperson, Kate de Cesare, together with employees from Eden Leisure Group, Casino Malta, and InterContinental Malta, visited the Is-Simar Nature Reserve.

During the tour, the team learned firsthand about the ecological significance of the wetland, the species it supports, and the ongoing conservation work carried out by BirdLife Malta’s dedicated experts.
The Eden Leisure Foundation continues to prioritise partnerships that safeguard Malta’s natural heritage.
Through ongoing environmental initiatives, the Foundation aims to support ecosystems, protect biodiversity, and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient future for the islands.
