The Consultative Council for Future Generations (CCfFG) recently held a meeting with the CEOs of MAPFRE Malta to share their vision for Malta’s future, grounded in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Malta’s Vision 2050.
This vision was encapsulated in a compelling Manifesto advocating for sustainable change, which has already been formally presented to the Prime Minister.
During the meeting, the CCfFG also had the opportunity to talk about a symbolic painting exhibited at Middlesea House ,created by Maltese artist Joe Farrugia, during the ISIMGĦUNA conference last November.
The artwork serves as a visual representation of the Manifesto, illustrating the interconnected goals and aspirations that Maltese youth believe should guide national policy.
MAPFRE Malta expressed strong support for the initiative, reinforcing their commitment to sustainability, youth engagement, and long-term societal wellbeing.
Etienne Sciberras, CEO of MAPFRE Middlesea, commented: “At MAPFRE, we believe that businesses must be active participants in shaping a sustainable future. The Manifesto presented by the CCfFG is a powerful reminder of the role young people play in driving national transformation. We are proud to support initiatives that align with our values of social responsibility and long-term impact.”
Elvira López de Lara Merida, CEO of MAPFRE MSV Life, added: “This dialogue with the CCfFG was both inspiring and timely. As a life insurer, our mission is to protect futures – and that includes the future of our planet and our communities. The Manifesto and its artistic representation reflect a deep understanding of the challenges ahead. We are committed to being part of the solution by promoting financial resilience, sustainability, and inclusive growth.”
The meeting marks a significant step in fostering collaboration between the private sector and youth-led initiatives aimed at shaping Malta’s long-term development strategy. MAPFRE Malta reaffirmed its dedication to supporting national efforts that prioritise environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic innovation.
