During the second quarter of 2025, APS Bank colleagues shared their knowledge and experience at a number of important local and international conferences. Topics covered included artificial intelligence in banking, compliance and financial crime prevention, and supporting entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.
Jonathan Caruana, Chief Technology Officer, took part in a panel discussion titled The Future of AI in Digital Banking – What Are the Real Use Cases vs. Investments in Emerging Technologies? This was held at the FINTENSE Customer Success Conference in Belgrade. During the event, the Bank received two awards: Full Digital Transformation and Fastest Growth in Digital Corporate Banking. The awards were presented by NF Innova, the developer of myAPS, and are exclusive to its client network.
For the third consecutive year, Cynthia Borg, Head of Financial Crime Compliance & MLRO served as a judge for the ICA Awards 2025, organised by the International Compliance Association in London. These are the UK’s only cross-sector awards recognising excellence in compliance and financial crime prevention.
Daniel Borg, Senior Commercial Manager, joined a panel at a half-day conference organised by the Foundation for the Promotion of Entrepreneurial Initiatives (FPEI), titled Money Meets Vision: The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Business Growth. The event brought together financial experts, legal professionals, successful entrepreneurs, and business mentors to discuss topics such as budgeting, cash flow management, tax planning, accounting, and investment strategies.
