Lidl Malta has announced its ongoing support for the Puttinu Cares Foundation as the main supporter of this year’s Good Friday Night Walk. With a donation of €15,000, Lidl Malta continues to strengthen its established relationship with Puttinu Cares, a partnership that has thrived since 2011. This commitment not only underscores Lidl’s dedication to community welfare but also highlights its role in supporting families affected by childhood cancer through various initiatives and events.
For over a decade, Lidl Malta has been an unwavering advocate of Puttinu Cares, participating in various fundraising initiatives. Among these was the iconic Football and Volleyball Marathon—an extraordinary 60-hour event that brought together thousands of Maltese people in an inspiring show of solidarity and generosity. This marathon became a cherished tradition where sportsmanship and community spirit united to raise vital funds for those in need. Today, this legacy continues through the Good Friday Night Walk, which draws thousands of participants annually and remains a significant occasion in Malta’s calendar.
“We are honoured to support Puttinu Cares once again,” said Owen Micallef, Lidl Malta Director. “Our long-standing relationship reflects our dedication to social responsibility and our desire to contribute meaningfully to the lives of those in need. We look forward to continuing this partnership for years to come.”
Angele Cuschieri, president of the Puttinu Cares Foundation, further stated: “We are incredibly grateful for Lidl Malta’s unwavering support. Their generosity has made a real difference for families facing the challenge of traveling abroad for treatment. The Good Friday Night Walk is a symbol of solidarity and hope, and Lidl Malta’s support strengthens our mission to provide a home away from home. We encourage everyone to join us, knowing that every step of this symbolic walk helps make a lasting impact.”
